The Allen-Bradley 825-MZ48 smart motor manager protection relay is an intelligent programmable motor overload protection module from the 825 smart motor manager module series that is designed to optimize motor utilization in the most critical industrial applications. It provides protection through current monitoring and complex algorithms that model the motor’s thermal profile, resulting in fewer downtimes, lower maintenance costs, and effective motor management. The 825-MZ48 module has an operating voltage range of 24 to 48 Volts DC and an operating current range of 5 to 2000 Amps. This smart motor manager module, like every 825-M module, has a modular design comprising a basic control and protection unit, a current converter module, a supply cable that makes the module short-circuit-proof, optional PCB plug-ins, and thermal utilization meters for thermal load status. The 825-MZ48 module features the electrically held or non-fail-safe operated main output relay and the alarm relay. It offers comprehensive protective features (including thermal overload, jam, phase imbalance, under load, ground fault, starting time monitor, and limited starts per hour protection), and monitoring, warning, and diagnostic capabilities for reduced downtimes and unplanned shutdowns.
The 825-MZ48 module has dedicated communication expansion slots that allow for modifications and access to operational, diagnostic, and historical data over the industrial automation networks like the DeviceNet, Modbus, and Remote I/O networks.
