The 825-P is a protection relay that is used with 3-Phase motors. This device is manufactured by Allen-Bradley that is capable of offering standard protections such as Thermal Overload (thermal model), PTC (positive temperature coefficient) Overtemperature, Undercurrent (Load Loss),Current Imbalance and Phase Loss Overcurrent (Load Jam), Short Circuit, Ground Fault (Residual), Ground Fault (Zero Sequence), Motor Starting/Running and Frequency.
For motor starting / running protection, this motor relay is capable of protecting the motor via Protection Inhibit During Start, Start Motor Timer, Notching or Jogging Device, TCU (Thermal Capacity Utilization) Start Inhibit, Anti-Backspin Timer, Emergency Start, Two Speed Protection, Reduced Voltage Starting (Star-Delta), and Stall-Speed Switch.
It can be installed with RTD based protection through the 825-PR12D RTD RTD scanner wherein up to Twelve (12) RTD can be connected and monitored.
The 825-P is also capable of monitoring Event summaries that includes information such as relay ID, date and time, trip trigger, as well as magnitudes of current and voltage. It can also monitor Serialized Events Recording (SER) and Motor running time and history from the previous reset and Start cycles since the last reset; Emergency start cycles since the last reset may also be monitored by this device which is also embedded with a complete suite of metering functions.
The 825-P can be optionally mounted with I/O channels which consists of One (1) 4-20 mA analog output, Three (3) control inputs, and Four (4) contact outputs. Communication interfaces may be additionally installed including adapters for DeviceNet and Modbus protocol.
The 825-P’s relay output also has an impulse strength of 4kV, with a pickup time of < 10ms, and it offers an insulation voltage rating of 300V AC. The system has a 120V AC/DC (825-PIOD) input, with a 15mA steady-state current and an ON-state and an OFF-state voltage of 15V and 5V, respectively at 2mA and 0.2mA ON/OFF state current, respectively. The system features Thermal Overload protection, an Optional voltage-based protection (Overvoltage, Reactive power, Phase Reversal, and Under-voltage). The 825-P is modularly constructed, and it has a built-in fixed keypad on its front panel, and an LCD status display with LED status indicators. It uses the DeviceNet Communication option with a Transmission speed of 125, 250, or 500kbps, over a distance of 500m, 200m, or 100m, and it is encased in a NEMA 4 (IP65) rated enclosure. It has an operational temperature of -4 to +140 Deg. Fahrenheit, at 5 to 95% non-condensing relative humidity, and a storage temperature of -40 to +185 deg. Fahrenheit. It weighs approximately 6.46Kg (with a power supply module and a converter module), and it is CE, UL, and CSA-certified.
