The 825-PD Modular Protection System is a DC-powered (24-48V DC) modular motor protection system by Allen Bradley with voltage-based, RTD-based protection options, and DeviceNet Network capability. It is designed specifically to protect industrial three-phase motors. It comes with the Allen-Bradley 825-MCM420 Current Converter Module which monitors the current consumption of motors, a Relay Voltage Input Option Card with an operational voltage range of 67-300V AC (line-to-line), and with a 4KV impulse strength and a transition voltage of 5-15V. It comes with a PTC thermistor input, with a 1500 Ohm Cold Resistance Chain, and a Trip Resistance range of 3400 Ohms +/- 150 Ohms with a 1500-1650 Ohm Reset Resistance range. The 825-PD has a control circuit with 24-48V DC control voltage range and a maximum power rating of 15W. It has a relay output with an Aux1 to Aux6 Trip Relay contact and a relay operational current of 3A. The 825-PD also has 4kV relay output impulse strength, with a dropout time of < 8ms, and with a contact reliability of 5mA at 17V. It has a 24V AC/DC input, with a steady-state current of 15mA and an ON/OFF state voltage of 15V/5V at 2mA and 0.2mA ON/OFF state current. It provides Thermal Overload protection, optional voltage-based protection (over-voltage, reactive power, phase reversal, and under-voltage), and a Resistance Temperature Detector (RTDs) based protection using the 825-PR12D RTD external Scanner. The 825-PD has built-in fixed keypads on the programming panel, with a single-line display LCD status screen, and LED Alarm/Trip FAULT indicators. It provides digital link with other connected devices on the DeviceNet network, via it DeviceNet Communication port with Transmission rates of 125, 250, and 500kbps, and it comes in a NEMA 4 (IP65) rated protective enclosure. The 825-PD has a working temperature range between -20 and +60 Deg. Celsius (-4 and +140Deg. Fahrenheit), at a humidity range of 5-95%, without condensation, and it can still maintain an optimal function at an altitude of 2000m. It weighs about 6.46Kg (with the power supply and converter module), and it is UL, CE, and CSA-certified.
The 825-PD external input voltage range of 24-48VDC. When wiring this device, appropriate wire size is 16 AWG (1.5 mm2 ) size or heavier wire to connect the 825-PD power terminals to the source. Connections must be in compliance with the IEC 947-1 and IEC 947-3 specifications. Circuit breakers, switch and overcurrent device may be installed along the input power wires of the 825-PD motor relay.
The 825-PD motor relay can be used for a variety of motor applications such as Low and medium voltage with 2 or 3 potential transformers, with or without phase current transformers, With or without zero-sequence core balance current transformer, with or without external RTD module, Reversing starter, Star-delta starting and Two-speed motors
When installing the 825-PD, create a panel cutout with measurement of 138.0 mm (H) x 186 mm (W). This motor relay is flush mounted and requires maximum panel depth of 6.5 mm. Use the provided Eight (8) ½ inch mounting screws to mount the motor relay in in place with Torque of 0.9...1.3 N.m (8...12 Lb-in). Ensure that the gasket is properly seated to ensure proper sealing of the device.
