The Allen-Bradley 825-PDN is an accessory module used with the 825-P modular protection system. This module is a DeviceNet communication option, mounted to the slot C of the 825-P to allow the modular protection system to connect to DeviceNet network for data exchange, integration, remote configuration, monitoring and control. This DeviceNet option module is compatible with the DeviceLogix, allowing device level logic operation and support up to 80 function blocks.
The Allen-Bradley 825-PDN DeviceNet module are provided with rotary switches for setting the node address and data rate before mounting the device to the appropriate 825-P expansion slot. Additionally, node address and data rate can be set using configuration tools such as RSNetworX for DeviceNet.
The 825-PDN includes slave functionality such as explicit connection, polled connection, Cyclic connection and Change of State (COS) connections. These connection methods may be used to reduce traffic and efficiently exchange data along the network.
The 825-PDN comes with a DeviceNet connector, Bus Status LED, Network Status LED, Two (2) Node Address Switches for Most Significant Digit (MSD) and Least Significant Digit (LSD). It also has a Data Rate rotary switch for setting the transmission speed of the module. Supported transmission rate are 125K, 250K and 500K.
When installing the 825-PDN DeviceNet module, remove power from the 825-P modular protection system and the DeviceNet network. Observe appropriate anti-static measures. Terminate the each of the DeviceNet cables to the 5-pin linear plug. Red, White, Bare, Blue and Black wires to terminals 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1 terminals, respectively.
It allows for communication, at a transmission rate of 125, 250, or 500kbps, over a distance of 500m (1640ft), 200m (656ft), or 100m (328ft), respectively. The 825-PDN DeviceNet Communication Card has a functional temperature range between -5 and 60 Deg. Celsius (23 and 140 Deg. Fahrenheit), at a relative non-condensing humidity level of 5 to 95%, and it is able to be stored in an environment with a temperature rating between -40 and +60 Deg. Celsius (-40 and +140 Deg. Fahrenheit). The 825-PDN is UL, CSA, and CE certified, and its volume 130mm x 108mm (5.128in x 4.252in). Features of the Allen-Bradley 825-PDN DeviceNet Communication Card include fault mode recovery, DeviceLogix component technology, and status indicators. It can handle polled connections, explicit connections, 1 change of state (COS) or cyclic connection for communication. The 825-PDN’s settings also support user-defined applications and actions.
