The 8520-ENC3 unit is manufactured by the Allen Bradley brand. It is an axis board and is from the 9/Series (9/260), functioning on a voltage of 115 to 230 Volt AC at a frequency of 50 to 60 Hertz; for an amplifier value, the 8520-ENC3 has 6/3 Amps. It can support eight servo axes, meaning that the user can select axes that are linked to feedback from the screen and which have been assigned to a particular number or letter. The 8520-ENC3 weighs around 0.678 kilograms. The length of this unit is 14 inches, its height is 2 inches, and its width is around 7 inches. The part can be installed through a simple download of the controls. The Adjustable Machine Parameters (AMP) can be used by the user to fit the 8520-ENC3 to the desired machine. During installation, the user must configure an additional axis or spindle for each installed 8520-ENC3 servo module. This should be the case if the no feedback is required for the servo module.
The 8520-ENC3 is used as a high-speed servo processor. It has a Central Processing Unit, or a CPU and a motherboard, meaning that it can be used for the control of machine commands. There are red and green LEDs on the motherboard, which tell the status of the machine during operations. Information is entered into the unit as an input, and after working it out with the machine it is attached to, the part gives an output. The 8520-ENC3 is specifically used to ensure accuracy during certain manufacturing processes in small and large industries.
