The 8520-MTB2 machine tool is a control panel manufactured by Allen-Bradley as a member of the 9/series automation parts. Control panels are an essential part of any process or machinery control. Through them, operators have the ability to monitor and modify variables whenever necessary. The Allen-Bradley 8520-MTB2 machine tool control panel operates within a range from 11.5 to 13.2 Volts DC. It is connected to the central power supply in order to receive sufficient power to enable the functioning of the monochrome or color flat panel displays, the MTB panel I/O module, the keyboard I/O interface, and the HPGs. The I/O module is connected to every button of the keyboard, allowing the control panel to emit a signal and thus control the target unit that is being monitored and controlled by this panel.
The Allen-Bradley 8520-MTB2 machine tool control panel allows operators to modify variables such as the mode, jog, speed/multiply, spindle speed override, spindle direction, feed-rate override, and rapid feed-rate override. It has six buttons to control axis and direction along with other useful tools such as the cycle start, single block and cycle stop buttons, an on/off button, and a reset button. For safety precautions, it also includes an emergency stop. Unlike other similar units, the keyboard of this control panel features flat buttons instead of handling buttons. It is recommended that the Allen-Bradley 8520-MTB2 machine tool control panel is installed into a suitable cabinet with proper wire connections in order to preserve its power stability and prevent it from having contact with possible threats that risk its proper functioning.
