8520-MTBL

The 8520-MTBL module is an operator panel with LEDs, belonging to the 8500 9/series of CNC machines; this module is manufactured by Allen Bradley. This panel is a combination of machine tool builder (MTB) push-button panel and a fiber optic input-output module. The push buttons on the 8520-MTBL operator panel allow the user to input the desired control so that the user can control the various operations of the system. The MTB panel input-output module provides 44 inputs and 18 outputs and is connected to the system with the help of fiber optic cables. This 8520-MTBL unit comes with an optional serial interface connector, which acts as an external interface port for its peripherals.

The rated input voltage for the 8520-MTBL is 12 Volts of DC power, while the power source voltage ranges from 11.5 to 13.2 Volts DC. The typical power consumption is 1.3 A and the maximum power consumption is 2.6 A. This module also has a fuse of 3 A in order to provide protection from overcurrent situations; the 8520-MTBL does not have any isolation. The input impedance of this module’s system is 2.25k Ohms, while the connection is completed through a 60-pin flat cable connector (CN51) with a maximum length of 1 meter. This module’s output voltage range varies from 9.3 Volts DC to 13.2 Volts DC, and the output drive is a totem pole driver output with source and sink capabilities. The user will be required to set the jumper JPR3 to the positions 1 or 2, so that the I/O module is able to recognize the MTB module as an Allen Bradley module. An operating temperature of 0 to 55 degrees Celsius should be maintained for the operator panel, with the humidity staying between 5 and 95%, non-condensing.
