* The Allen Bradley 4100-234-L has been discontinued by the manufacturer, however we specialize in obsolete parts and can likely still supply surplus and/or refurbished replacement 4100-234-L units instead of migration.
The 4100-234-L Compact Motion Controller by Allen-Bradley is a stand-alone compact 4-axis motion controller with an Axis Link option but no Remote I/O. It is adapted with an electronic gearing and CAM system for axis synchronization and coordination of axis motion profiles for all the axis positions and motion orientation. The Axis Link feature of the 4100-234-L allows for the Axis Link Encoder Conversion module (ALEC) option which permits any of the 4 axes of the 4100-234-L Compact Motion Controller to be used as masters to the remaining 3 axes in an electronic gearing and CAM (motion profile) system which provide 13,000 master CAM point and 13,000 Slave CAM points. It has 4 optically-isolated (1 for each axis) encoder inputs, with a maximum encoder frequency of 4MHz, an impedance of 7kΩ (for each axis), and an encoder voltage of 5 or 12 Volts DC at 1 Amps.
It also has 4 isolated analog servo outputs (1 for each axis) with a selectable output range of ±10 Volts DC or ±150 mA at 16 bits, 305µV control resolution, and 220Ω output voltage resistance. The 4100-234-L is connected to the flex I/O module, for enhanced discrete I/O possibilities. The flex I/O module connected provides it with 20 (5 for each axis) optically-isolated discrete input with a maximum input voltage of 28 Volts DC and 12mA current at 2kΩ (resistive) per input impedance, and 8 optically-isolated solid-state open relays with 24 Volts DC nominal voltage and a maximum current of 1 Amps. The 4100-234-L uses the GML for programming and the RS-232C port for connection and transferring programmed settings to its battery-backed write-protected RAM memory. It has dimensions of 355.6 x 279.4 x 165.1 millimeters (14 x 11 x 6.50 inches) and it weighs approximately 7.7 kilograms (16.90 pounds).
