The 4100-234-RL is a Compact Motion Controller from Allen-Bradley. It is part of the IMC S Class microprocessor-based controllers. This motion controller is capable of controlling up to Four (4) axes of closed loop, point-to-point positioning of drive systems. This motion controller is also capable of being set with profiles such as trapezoidal, parabolic, or S-curve as well as velocity, acceleration, and deceleration control. It can also be configured with multi-axis linear, circular, or helical interpolation.

The 4100-234-RL and the entire IMC S Class motion controller is programmed and configured using the Graphical Motion Language (GML). More that 100 are provided which can be used by the user fully customized operation. Programs developed with the GML software may be downloaded through the embedded RS232 or RS422 communication interface of the Compact motion controller.

The 4100-234-RL is a stand-alone and compact unit which supports up to Four (4) axes. It has a built-in Remote I/O (RIO) adapter for communication with other Allen-Bradley RIO capable devices such as a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). It is also equipped with AxisLink Multi-Axis Synchronization link.

The 4100-234-RL microprocessor is an Intel 80960SB @ 16 MHz. It has an application storage that is 32 KB Write-lockable battery-backed Random-Access Memory (RAM) used for application and configuration of parameter values. Additionally, it also has a Write-lockable battery-backed Random Access Memory (RAM) data storage that is used for storing cam table and default user variable values.

The 4100-234-RL is powered by an external supply voltage of 90 – 132 or 175 – 264 Volts AC, with frequency of 47 – 63 Hz while the I/O input power requires 5 – 40 Volts DC, 24 Volts DC nominal, 3 Amperes maximum.
