The 2198-E1015-ERS drive is an Ethernet servo drive. It is a single-axis drive that belongs to the Allen-Bradley’s Kinetix 5100 product line. Kinetix 5100 systems include single-phase and three-phase standalone configurations. The motors can connect to the drive through the 15-pin motor feedback connector. Auxiliary connections are made through the auxiliary connector on the front of the drive. The communication topologies supported by the 2198-E1015-ERS drive include ring, star, and linear Ethernet topologies while using the ControlLogix, Micro8000, and MicroLogix controllers. If any advice becomes disconnected in linear topologies, then all the devices that are downstream of that device will lose communication. The disconnection of only one device in ring topologies does not affect any other device. In a star topology, each device is connected directly to a switch.
