2198-E2055-ERS

The 2198-E2055-ERS drive is a Kinetix 5100 drive manufactured by Allen-Bradley. To comply with the CE and UL requirements, the 2198-E2055-ERS drive must be mounted inside a grounded conductive enclosure that offers a level of protection as defined in the IEC 60529 standards. To maintain the safety rating, the enclosure must provide a protection class of IP 54 or higher.  The drive panel must be on a rigid and flat surface that is not subjected to shock, vibration, or corrosive vapors. The enclosure should be sized to ensure that the recommended temperature ratings are not exceeded. Allen-Bradley recommends a working temperature range of 0 to 50 degrees Celsius for the 2198-E2055-ERS drive. Operation outside this recommended temperature range can lead to output derating. Any unused drive must be kept in storage where the ambient temperature is between -40 and 70 degrees Celsius.

At a nominal input of 230 Volts AC, the 2198-E2055-ERS drive offers 5.5 kilowatts of output power. The input voltage range is from 170 to 253 Volts AC (three-phase, at 47 to 63 Hertz). The drive is designed to shut off if the input voltage falls below 150 Volts AC or if it exceeds 410 Volts AC. The specifications for the capacitive energy absorption and bus capacitance are 47.63 Joules and 4100 microfarads. The short-circuit current rating is 5000 Amps (RMS) symmetrical. The nominal input current value is 27.32 Amps and the continuous output current value is 41.3 Amps. The maximum output current value is 91.4 Amps. The weight of the drive is 11.02 pounds and it dissipates 328.52 Watts as heat during operation. Two integrated Ethernet ports on the drive allow it to be used in multiple network topologies.
