The Allen-Bradley 2198-E4055-ERS Kinetix 5100 series servo drive does not feature an internal shunt resistor. However, the 2198-E4055-ERS drive does support Dual-Ethernet connectivity. The main advantage of having 2 Ethernet ports is that they allow the drive to support multiple network topologies. The supported network topologies include linear, ring, and star topologies. A network switch is required for a star topology. When a ring topology is used, the devices on the network continue to communicate even if one device is disabled.
