The Allen-Bradley 2198-E4150-ERS drive is a Kinetix 5100 series Ethernet/IP indexing servo drive. The input voltage range of the drive is 342 to 528 Volts AC (3-phase). The continuous output power rating of the dirve is 15 kilowatts and the continuous output current rating is 41.26 Amps. The peak output current rating of the drive is 70.14 Amps. An AC input line filter needs to be installed in the system to comply with the CE requirements. Allen-Bradley recommends installing the filter near the drive. The recommended line filter for the 2198-E4150-ERS drive is the Allen-Bradley 2198-DBR40-F line filter. This drive supports internal motor short-circuit protection. The 2198-E4150-ERS drive does not require an isolation transformer on the input side. A transformer may be used, however, to match the drive input rating to the available AC power supply. The bus undervoltage rating is 282 Volts and the bus overvoltage rating is 820 Volts.
Motor feedback connections on the Allen-Bradley 2198-E4150-ERS Kinetix 5100 series indexing servo drive are made at the 15-pin motor feedback connector or MFB. This servo drive supports line, star, and ring Ethernet topologies because the drive supports dual-port Ethernet connectivity. In a linear Ethernet topology, all devices that are downstream from a drive that loses connectivity lose communication. In a ring Ethernet topology, however, if one device gets disconnected, all the other devices in the ring can still communicate. For a star Ethernet topology deployment, the 2198-E4150-ERS drive and all the other devices are connected through an Allein-Bradley Stratix 5700 switch. The 2198-E4150-ERS drive supports Allen-Bradley MicroLogix, CompactLogix, ControlLogix, and Micro800 series controllers.
