The 2198-H070-ERS is an Allen-Bradley Kinetix 5500 Ethernet I/P servo Drive. This servo drive is primarily used to control rotary motion of motors specifically servo and induction motors.

Compared to previous Servo Drives, the 2198-H070-ERS has a smaller footprint with optimized and increased power density. The servo drive’s compact form effectively saves space and reduces installation cost.

It is also built with Safe Torque-Off functionality that is certified for ISO 13849-1 PLd/SIL 2 and Load Observer real-time Technology that improves and shortens commissioning time, compensate for unknown variable and mechanics of the process or system, automatically adjusts inertia during operation thus, enhances machine or process performance.

The 2198-H070-ERS dual Ethernet communication port supports linear of Device Level Ring (DLR) topology. These communication port supports integrated safety and motion control over ethernet, simplifying and reducing wire connections. As servo drives depend on the actual position feedback of the driven motor, the 2198-H070-ERS uses a single cable for wiring digital feedback to the servo drive for a more accurate control.

The Allen-Bradley 2198-H070-ERS is a Kinetix 5500 Servo Drive with a hardwired safety feature. CompactLogix, ControlLogix, and GuardLogix controllers connected to it support the integrated motion on the EtherNet/IP network. It has an innovative, compact design that requires less panel space and only one cable can be used to simplify system wiring. It delivers high performance and scalability at a low cost with the motor windings matched to the drive ratings, providing more efficient system sizing. The 2198-H070-ERS also has dual Ethernet ports allowing support for linear and DLR (Device Level Ring) topologies. The capability to run both induction and servo motors in one drive platform further simplify system operation and maintenance. The 2198-H070-ERS drive requires a 3-phase 190 - 528V AC input voltage with a 47 - 63 Hz frequency. It has 23.7A main AC input current, 60A max inrush (0-peak), and 71.1A peak AC input current.
