2198-ABQE

The 2198-ABQE module is an encoder output emulator module that has been designed by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation in the 2198 product line. The main objective of this module is to encode pulses to a peripheral device and then support real and virtual axes for the system by using the integrated motion of a network, and in this case, the network is the Ethernet/IP network. The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 2198-ABQE encoder output emulator module comes shipped with a 24 Volts wiring plug, a label for recording the IP address, and installation instructions. Some items such as the connector kit, spare connector, and end-to-end anchor set need to be ordered separately and these are also needed to install the module correctly. When installing the module, it is important to understand that clearances of at least 100 millimeters must be left on top of and below the drive, but clearances are not needed on the sides of the module.

The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 2198-ABQE encoder output emulator module has a mounting bracket, a mounting latch lock, and a safety ground point. This module is meant to be mounted on a DIN Rail that first needs to be secured and then fastened. Some of the features and indicators of the module are an IP address switch, a mounting latch, two 15-pin output connectors (known as connectiors A and B), and e Ethernet ports. The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 2198-ABQE encoder output emulator module comes with a network and module status indicator, along with a link speed and link/activity status indicator. This module has a control input power (CP) connector voltage rating of 24 Volts.
