It uses Fiber optic media connected in linear or ring topology to build a network of 1 or more IAMs. This IAM is provided with a seven-segment display which is used to indicate the operational status of the drive, event, and fault codes.

The 2094-AC09-M02 through the SERCOS interface can be connected directly to a ControlLogix controller that is installed with a SERCOS interface module.
