The Allen-Bradley 2094-AM01 is an axis module for use with the Kinetix 6000 family of drives. The module contains ports to facilitate its connection with the different Kinetix drives. These ports include the SERCOS Receive connector, the SERCOS Transmit connector, the motor resistive brake connector, the auxiliary feedback connector, the motor feedback connector, and the I/O connector. The connectors are positioned either on the top or the front of the 2094-AM01. Note that the serial real-time communications system (SERCOS) is a communication network that is capable of achieving high transmission rates by using serial communication with standardized closed-loop data in real-time over a noise-immune fiber-optic cable.

A Kinetix 6000 servo drive system only accommodates seven 2094-AM01 modules or an equal number of any other kind of axis modules. The system also includes a single power rail, a maximum of 8 rotary motors, linear motors, or linear actuators. For troubleshooting and monitoring purposes, the 2094-AM01 contains light emitting diodes (LEDs) which indicate things like the general status of the 2094-AM01 Axis Module, and the communication status and the bus status. The indicators cater to both normal functioning and errors. The 2094-AM01 has a nominal input voltage of 325 Volts DC, a bandwidth velocity loop of 500 Hertz, and a power with modulation (PWM) frequency of 8 kiloHertz. The 2094-AM01 has a 0.98 efficiency rating. For the current, the axis module has an RMS continuous current of 6.0 Amps while its 0-peak continuous current stands at 8.5 Amps. The 2094-AM01 does not feature an internal shunt continuous power rating. Additionally, it does not feature an internal shunt peak power rating.
