2094-PRS7

The 2094-PRS7 is an Allen-Bradley product that is part of the Kinetix 6000 Multi-Axis Drive system. This component is a slim power rail which provides installation means for Kinetix 6000 module. This power rail also has the electronic circuitry that is responsible for distributing the bus power, used to energize the attached module.

The 2094-PRS7 is used with the 230V or 460V drive systems. It has module capacity of One (1) integrated Axis Module (IAM) and Six (6) slots for additional modules which can be a combination of Axis modules, shunt modules, and slot fillers.

This power rail comes with One braided 100 mm (3.9 in.) ground strap and protective covers for each of the power rail connectors. For bond improvement between the enclosure mounting plate and power rail, it is ideal to use a zinc plated or paint free steel.

When installing the 2094-PRS7 mounting rail, do not remove the connector pins during installation. Specifically, avoid metal debris from entering this section of the power rail as these debris may short the conductor pins which may further result to damage in the module’s circuitry. Vacant power rail slots may also be installed with slot filler. Slot fillers are simply module hoiusings without the electronic circuit. It is sometimes referred to as a dummy module with the primary purpose of protecting the exposed slot of the power rail.

This 2094-PRS7 slim power rail is installed first. The recommended mounting hardware is M6 Metric (1/4x20) bolts. The mounting fasteners must be tightened by applying torque up to 5.08 N•m (45.0 lb•in) torque. The braided strap that ships with the module must be connected to the ground grid or Power distribution ground. One the power rail is installed, the Kinetix 6000 modules may now be installed onto to the power rail.

The 2094-PRS7 power rail serves only 230V or 460V drive systems .The capacity of a module varies depending on whether it requires a single-wide or double-wide module. When installing the 2094-PRS7 module on a rail, do not switch the power on because the connector terminal retains some voltage even when the power is switched off, and this voltage could cause an electric shock during installation. In addition, plan installation so that you can cut, tap, drill, and weld the drive system outside an enclosure. Pieces of metal from cutting and drilling can enter the circuitry and cause damage. Nonetheless, a protective layer covers the connector pins to prevent debris from lodging between the pins during installation.
