The Allen Bradley 22-COMM-B serves as a BACnet MS/TP adapter specifically designed for integration with PowerFlex 40 drives. This device utilizes the BACnet MS/TP network protocol to enable effective communication within industrial control systems. Equipped with an RS-485 serial interface, it ensures reliable data transmission between network components.

This adapter features a DSI 20-pin header for connecting directly to the drive, enabling seamless integration. Communication speeds can be adjusted among 9600, 19200, 38400, and 76800 bps, providing flexibility to match specific application requirements. The network can operate in either master or slave roles, employing token passing for efficient arbitration of data flow.

For system optimization, users can easily manage termination and bias settings using built-in on/off switches. Addressing is accomplished through a DIP switch MAC address, enhancing organization within larger installations. The unit has four status LEDs that provide real-time indicators of operational status, facilitating troubleshooting.

A 5 VDC power supply, requiring 275 mA, powers the module. It operates at a DSI speed of 19.2 kbps, making it suitable for various applications without compromising performance. The 22-COMM-B can support a maximum of 127 drives connected within a single network. Installation is versatile, as it allows for both internal and external mounting options for user convenience.
