The 22B-D4P0F104 drive is a PowerFlex40 AC drive from Allen-Bradley. Before working on the drive, note that it contains high voltage capacitors which take a longer time to discharge after the main power supply has been disconnected than other capacitors. Therefore, the capacitors should be given a minimum of 3 minutes to discharge to safe voltage levels. However, note that darkened display LEDs are not a confirmation that the capacitors have discharged to safe voltage levels. The 22B-D4P0F104 drive should be mounted upright on a vertical, flat surface. For the 22B-D4P0F104 drive to operate optimally, it should be mounted in environments that are free from corrosive substances, moisture, and direct sunlight. Additionally, when mounting the 22B-D4P0F104 drive or other AC drives in the same family, a mounting clearance of 4.7 inches should be provided on the top and bottom sides of the drive. However, a mounting clearance of 1 inch should be provided between the drives. Although the clearance between drives is optional, it is recommended to increase the airflow to the drive’s heatsink and chassis.

When in operation, the Allen-Bradley 22B-D4P0F104 drive supports a temperature of between -10 degrees Celsius and 40 degrees Celsius when clearance has not been provided between the drives and the supported temperature is between -10 degrees Celsius and 50 degrees Celsius when a clearance has been provided between the drives. When being stored, the Allen-Bradley 22B-D4P0F104 drive supports an ambient temperature ranging from -40 degrees Celsius to 85 degrees Celsius and a non-condensing relative humidity ranging between 0% and 955. The 22B-D4P0F104 drive, like other PowerFlex 40 drives, contains protective MOVs that are referenced to the ground.
