The Allen-Bradley 22B-E4P2N104 is a PowerFlex 40 Variable Frequency Drive (VFD). This product is used to control speed of AC motors by varying frequency. It is capable of Sensorless Vector Control (SVC) and exhibits excellent current regulation. Additionally, this drive is capable of Variable Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) allowing the unit to deliver higher output current even at low frequencies, Integral Proportional + Integral + Derivative (PID) controller capability, allowing the drive to act as standalone controller for automatic regulation of the control loop within the defined setpoint. It is also capable of implementing Timer, Counter, Basic Logic and StepLogic functions.

The 22B-E4P2N104 is part of the PowerFlex 40 Adjustable Frequency AC Drive product family. It has an input voltage rating of 460-600VAC, 3-phase and provides output voltage of 0-575VAC, 3-Phase, output current of 4.2 A and output Power of 2.2 kW (3.0 HP). This drive is a Frame B drive which supports DIN rail and direct panel mounting. It also supports Zero stacking installation wherein, fellow 22B-E4P2N104 and similar drives may be installed with very minimum spacing which effective lessens panel space requirement.

For communication, the integral RS485 communication interface support daisy-chain and multi-node communication.

Operating at temperatures between 0 and 60 degrees Celsius, this module can be stored at any temperature between -40 and 85 degrees Celsius while maintaining a non-condensing relative humidity of 5% to 95%. This module does not provide branch short circuit protection. It should be installed with either input fuses or an input circuit breaker. The 22B-E4P2N104 is not intended for use in residential environment and it may not provide adequate protection for surrounding radio communications services.
