The Allen-Bradley 22C- D208A103 is a variable Frequency Drive (VFD) that is part of the PowerFlex 400 Adjustable Frequency AC Drive product family. Specifically, this drive is ideal for use in industrial fan and pump applications, delivering excellent speed control using Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) or Volts / Hertz (V/Hz) control method.

The 22C- D208A103 output ratings include a programmable frequency range of 0-320 Hz, 0-480 VAC, 3-Phase voltage, 208 Amperes and 150 HP or 110 kW. With these output ratings, this drive is ideally used with large motors that drive extremely heavy loads. It operated when supplied an input voltage range of 380-480 VAC, 47-63 Hz with input current requirement of 200 Amperes and 167 kVA. For branch circuit protection, this motor requires use of a 250 Ampere fuse and Allen-Bradley 100-D250 contactor. For installation, this drive supports direct panel mounting to an IP20, NEMA Type 1 rated enclosure.

The 22C- D208A103 has built-in Three (3) semi-programmable and Four(4) Fully programmable sink / source inputs; Two (2) Form C contacts and One (1) optocoupler output; One (1) Unipolar –10…10V or One (1) bipolar 0…10V or 4…20 mA analog inputs and Two (2) 0-10VDC; 0-20mA analog outputs. These input channels are designed to accept wiring of external signals, allowing remote drive operation. It also comes with an embedded Human Interface Module (HIM) for local operation, configuration as well as aid in troubleshooting in the event of drive malfunction. For communication, the 22C- D208A103 has a built-in RS485 communication interface.

The 22C-D208A103 comes with a frame size F. It is installed to an IP30 rated NEMA/UL Type 1 enclosure. For its frame size, this module requires a wire size of 85 millimeters squared (or 3/0 AWG) at its minimum, and a maximum wire size of 152.5 millimeters squared (300 MCM). It does not have a flange mount.This unit can be raised to a maximum altitude of 3300 without derating. Above that, it derating is rated at 3% for every 305 meters. It is equipped with a fan and requires to be operated at a temperature range between 185 and -40 degrees Fahrenheit (84 and -40 degrees Celsius). It is important not to install this drive in an area of high dust, or an area exposed to corrosive vapors and gases.

The 22C-D208A103 has a total of seven (7) digital control inputs (3 are semi-programmable, 4 are fully programmable). It also has two analog control inputs, one being Isolated (-10 to 10 Volts) and one being Non-Isolated (0 to 10 Volts). It has eleven (11) total outputs, six of which are Relay, one is Opto, and two are Analog. The 22C-D208A103 has a number of certifications including listings for CAN/CSA-22.2 and UL508C.
