The Allen-Bradley 22D-E6P6N104 PowerFlex 40 Adjustable Frequency AC Drive has a modular and compact design for control of industrial motors in applications with closed-loop control. The drive has zero stacking technology which allows for up to a 40°C operational ambient temperature while saving space and it allows for easy programming using either the HIM option, the integral LCD and reset buttons, or through the integral RS-485 communication ports, which allows for programming by a PC. The 22D-E6P6N104’s operating voltage range is 460 to 600V AC, with 6.6A output current, and has a maximum drive output of 4kW (5HP). It also has ±10% acceptable voltage range at 48 to 63Hz, with 0.98 drive power factor, and a drive efficiency of 97.5%. The drive has an input voltage range of 414V AC to 660V AC, with 8.1KVA real power input at 8.3A, and it provides 100,000A short-circuit rating using 15 Class CC fuses. The 22D-E6P6N104 offers 1005V DC bus overvoltage trip with 390V DC under-voltage bus trip, and the drive offers a 100ms wide power loss ride thru time. It has a MOV, which gives phase-to-ground, plus phase-to-phase protection, and transient line protection of as much as 6000V, and it provides hardware overcurrent trip limit of 200%.

The drive offers Class 10 electronic motor overload protection with the i2 t Algorithm and it monitors its temperature via a heat sink thermistor. The 22D-E6P6N104 produces a sine-coded PWM signal with a programmable 2 to 16 KHz carrier range for control, and it has a selectable output voltage, which is a function of the output frequency. Motor control is by the sensorless vector control, with a 120:1 speed range, and the volt per hertz standard control, and the drive offers ±1%, ±0.3%, and ±0.05% speed regulations across 80:1 and 20:1 speed range in open-loop applications with slip compensation and an encoder device. The 22D-E6P6N104 has 7 digital inputs with an accuracy within ±0.05% of the set output frequency, and 2 isolated 10-bit analog inputs with an accuracy within 0.5% of the maximum output frequency, and it has 1 control Analog output, with 1 programmable Form C Relay output. It features multiple stop modes and offers 4 independent, and programmable acceleration and deceleration times. The 22D-E6P6N104 has a working temperature range between -10 and 40°C (14 and 104°F), at 5 to 95% non-condensing relative humidity range, and the drive’s maximum heat dissipation is 160W.
