The Allen-Bradley 22D-E9P9F104 is a PowerFlex 40P 5.5 drive component. Based on the popular PowerFlex 40 drive, the power-rating of the 22D-E9P9F104 ranges between 0.4 and 11 KiloWatts. The voltage class of the device has three ranges; 240, 480 and 600 Volts. The main advantage of the 22D-E9P9F104 over the previous model lies in its efficient space dimensions, ease of use, and flexibility. The installation of the device is very simple with the DIN rail mounting feature. In addition, panel mounting is also an option, making it versatile in any kind of space. The 22D-E9P9F104 can remain functional in high-temperatures (up to 40 degrees Celsius) thanks to the exclusive Zero Stacking™ technology. This can extend the temperature to up to 50 degrees Celsius, provided there is a minimum space maintained between the drives.

For programming, the 22D-E9P9F104 Powerflex 40P drive component often comes with the PC programming tool. If it does not have one, an external HMI is a must.  For programming purposes, the internal RS485 communications can be connected to a PC. The device also boasts an intuitive 4 digit display that comes with 10 LED indicators to indicate the various status and information of the device. Even if the user is new to the device, it is easy to use thanks to the Basic Program Group which is a set of 10 basic programs that are based on the 10 most common application perimeters of the device. The voltage tolerance of the device comes in 3 frames based on usage; 200 to 240 Volts, 380 to 480 Volts, and 460 to 600 Volts, respectively. For remote usage flexibility, the device also comes with a NEMA Type 4X remote as well as a NEMA Type 1 hand-held LCD keypad.
