The Allen-Bradley 22F-V2P5N103 is an adjustable Frequency drive that is mainly utilized to control speed of AC motors. This drive has voltage output ratings of 0-230VAC, 3-Phase, output current of Current of 2.5 A and output Power of 0.4 kW (0.5 HP). This drive receives input supply voltage of 100-120VAC, 1-phase.

The 22F-V2P5N103 is part of the PowerFlex 4M adjustable Frequency Drives. Typically, this unit and other drives are more popularly called as Variable Frequency Drive (VFD), Variable Speed Drive (VSD) or simply, inverter. All these refer to a drive that mainly control the speed of a connected AC motor whether manual and automatically using locally or remotely initiated operating commands.

The 22F-V2P5N103 has built-in communication capability allowing it to communicate over an RS485 communication network. With RS485 electrical standard, this drive may be connected to a daisy-chain network wherein up to 31 drives may be connected and polled remotely. Other communication protocols supported by this drive include Profibus DP, LONWORKS, BACNet, Ethernet, ControlNet and other protocols.

The 22F-V2P5N103 may also be configured and operated locally using the supplied Human Interface Module (HIM).

The Allen Bradley 22F-V2P5N103 provides extensive flexibility and reliability features to an application; for example, it incorporates a removable MOV to protect the drive against voltage transients and input line instability, and its inrush current is controlled by pre-charge relay, it can withstand 150% overload for 60 seconds or even 200% overload for 3 seconds which provides a versatile protection against overload condition. The 22F-V2P5N103 has 5 digital inputs, 3 of them are dedicated for Start, Stop, Reverse Commands, the other two are general purpose inputs that can be configured for commands like jogging, preset frequencies, clearing faults, local control, etc. All digital inputs are 24 Volts and can be configured as Source/Sink via a DIP switch setting. The 22F-V2P5N103 also has 2 analog inputs that enable it to receive speed commands as 4 to 20 mA or 0 to 10 Volt signals from a local potentiometer or analog PLC O/P card.
