This drive is primarily used for implementing speed control as well as Torque control. Additionally, this drive is an alternative energy saving device than a soft-starter as it is capable of lowering power consumption via the programmable parameters supported by this drive.

For Speed control, this drive is capable of implementing Volts / Hertz (V/Hz) control method. This control method offers excellent speed control capability which is useful for machine and processes such as conveyor, material transfer and pumping applications. For Torque control, Sensorless Vector Control (SVC) may be used and applicable for application that where lifting is required or gripping action is required along the entire speed range of the drive. It still supports DIN rail mounting as it is still part of the low output drives however, compared to Frame A and Frame B drives, the output capabilities of the 25A-D017N104 is higher, suitable for motors that drive heavier or larger loads.
