The Allen-Bradley 25A-V2P5N104 is a PowerFlex 523 air-cooled standard drive with an IP20 NEMA/open type enclosure rating that is mounted via a panel or DIN rail. This A-frame size drive is equipped with a 5-digit LCD human interface module (HIM) with multi-language support and a scrolling text feature, a speed potentiometer that lets you control the speed of the drive, and an integral keypad. It is equipped with a standard brake but does not have an EMC filter. Its available I/O wirings are 1 unipolar voltage or current analog input, 5 digital inputs with 4 of them programmable, and 1 form C relay output. This drive also features a MainsFree configuration capable USB port, which lets you directly connect the drive’s control module to a computer using a USB cable for you to upload, download, and flash the drive’s settings. This drive, together with other PowerFlex AC drives, can be connected to a single node for multi-drive networking via its DSI port. The voltage rating of the single-phase 25A-V2P5N104 drive is 120V AC, while its output current is 2.5 A. The output kW and HP of this drive are the same at both normal duty and heavy-duty, with an HP of 0.5 and kW of 0.4. Its operating temperature ranges from -20-50 oC and a maximum operating altitude is 1000 m or 3280 ft. This drive also has a maximum output frequency of 500 Hz and is suitable for open-loop speed regulation applications. The motor controls present are sensorless vector control and volts per Hertz.

The 25A-V2P5N104 is an Allen-Bradley Variable Frequency Drive (VFD). This product is part of the PowerFlex 523 family of Adjustable Frequency AC Drives, which belong to the larger PowerFlex 520 Series of drives. The primary purpose intended use of the 25A-V2P5N104 is the control of speed of an industrial AC motor; however, it is also used for Torque control as well as an energy saving device.

The 25A-V2P5N104 operates when supplied by an input supply range of 170-264 Volts AC, 3-phase. It drives the connected AC motor by providing an output voltage of 0-230 Volts AC, 3-phase, along an output current of 2.5 Amperes and power of 0.5 Horsepower or 0.4 Kilowatts for normal and heavy-duty operation. Being part of the PowerFlex 523 product line, the 25A-V2P5N104 is capable of Volts / Hertz and Sensorless Vector Control (SVC).

The 25A-V2P5N104 also comes with integrated I/O terminals which is composed of five (5) inputs; one (1) Form C contacts output; one (1) analog input and one (1) analog output. It also has a dedicated potentiometer input for wiring of a 1-10 K Ohm potentiometer, minimum of 2 Watts.

It may also be operated and monitored locally through the standard issued Human Interface Module (HIM). For direct integration to Programmable Automation Controllers (PAC) such as CompactLogix and ControlLogix controllers, premiere integration may be utilized wherein drive parameters may be programmed and modified directly using built-in PAC instructions. Further integration to Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) and Supervisory Controland Data Acquisition (SCADA) may be implemented using this method.
