The 25-COMM-D adapter is a DeviceNet adapter that has been designed exclusively to be used with the PowerFlex 525 series of drives by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation. This adapter is meant to be installed inside the host drive and it provides the drive with DeviceNet communications, enabling the drive to share data with different devices. This adapter also works as a multi-drive adapter that can provide different means for connecting the drive to DSI hosts. Some of the components of this DeviceNet adapter are node address and rate switches, a communication card drive header which is a 40-pin female header, 3 LED status indicators, terminals, and DeviceNet connectors which are 5-pin connectors. The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 25-COMM-D DeviceNet adapter can be mounted on a PowerFlex 525 control module’s back cover. This way, the adapter can receive the power it needs to operate from the drive and the DeviceNet network.
The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 25-COMM-D DeviceNet adapter employs multiple data transmission methods that include polled, cyclic, and change of state (COS) data transmission methods. All of these methods can be used to transmit data between the network and the adapter. This adapter comes shipped with one 5-pin inline DeviceNet plug, 2 interface connectors, and an installation leaflet.
