The 25B-D4P0N114 is more popularly known as a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD). Other terms for this drive are Variable Speed Drive (VSD), and frequency inverter. All these terminologies refer to a device that is used to modulate motor speed, such as the 25B-D4P0N114 is a PowerFlex 525 Adjustable Frequency AC Drive. The 25B-D4P0N114 is capable of variety of control methods. These control methods include Volts per Hertz (V/Hz), Sensorless Vector Control (SVC), Closed loop velocity vector control, and Permanent Magnet motor control. It is also capable of positioning control via PointStop™ stops motor load in a consistent position without encoder feedback, Closed loop feedback with an optional encoder card and Point-to-point positioning mode. It also comes with an internal Proportional + Integral + Derivative (PID) controller, allowing the drive to function as a stand-alone controller.

The has a voltage rating of 480VAC, 3-Phase with output power rating of 1.5 kW or 2.0 HP for normal and heavy-duty operation of the drive. It delivers output Current of 4.0 Amperes and comes with an IP20 NEMA / Open rated enclosure, integrated EMC filter and standard drive version.
