The Allen-Bradley 25B-V2P5N104 is an Adjustable Frequency AC drive from the PowerFlex 525 product family. Commonly termed as Variable Frequency Drive (VFD), Frequency Inverter, Variable Speed Drive, Inverter or simply drive, this electronic device enables modulating speed control of motor through manual and automatic modes as well as implement basic motor control commands.

The 25B-N2P5N104 may be operated locally and standalone, with the use of the embedded Human Interface Module (HIM) with LCD display and keypad assembly. This HIM has the basic command buttons such as Start / Stop; Forward / Reverse / Jog control commands as well as a built-in potentiometer to modify the speed of the connected motor. External signaling devices may be wired to the designated input and output terminals of the drive which is composed of Seven (7) Sink / Source Discrete inputs; One (1) N.O.; One (1) N.C. Contacts; Two (2) Digital / Optocoupler outputs; Two (2) 0-10VDC; 0-20mA analog input channels which may serve as speed feedback for modulating speed control and One (1) 0-10VDC; 0-20mA analog output which may function as speed reference command. It also come with a dedicated potentiometer input used for speed adjustment of the motor.

The 22B-V2P5N104 comes with embedded Ethernet I/P communication port for connecting this drive to an Ethernet network and implement Premier Integration solution, integrating drive parameters directly to CompactLogix and ControlLogix Programmable Automation Controllers (PAC). It also has an RS485 port, allowing daisy-chain connection of PowerFlex drives and configuration workstation. Up to 31 drives may be connected in this topology plus the master configuration workstation.

The 25B-V2P5N104’s operating temperature is -4-122 Deg. F and its non-operating temperature is -40-185 Deg. F at a non-condensing relative humidity of 0-95% and a maximum operating altitude of 1000m. The operating vibration is 1g peak at 5-2000 Hz and an operating vibration of 15 g peak for 11 ms. Integrated to the 25B-V2P5N104 drive is an integral keypad with a potentiometer and an LED display. It also has an embedded EtherNet/IP port, an integral RS485 with Modbus RTU/DSI,. It supports installation of dual port Ethernet/IP PROFIBUS DP and DeviceNet option card. The control I/O present with this drive is 1 jumper selectable analog output, 2 analog inputs where 1 is unipolar and the other is bipolar, 7 digital outputs where 6 outputs are programmable, 2 relay outputs, and 2 outputs. The entire drive measures 5.98 x 2.83 x 6.77 inches and uses a DIN rail mount or panel mount. The 25B-V2P5N104 uses an IP20, open type enclosure and it has a fixed terminal connection.
