The Allen-Bradley 25C-D017N114 is a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD). It is also called as Variable Speed Drives or Frequency Inverter in most instances. This equipment is used in industrial application to control motor operation and implement speed control.

The 25C-D017N114 requires an input supply voltage range of 380-480VAC, 3-phase. It has an output frequency range of 0-590 Hz, 3-Phase, 0-460VAC Voltage, Current of 17.0 A and Power rating of 7.5 kW (10.0 HP) for both normal and heavy-duty operation. This drive has an efficiency of 97.5%.

Speed control through frequency variation is implemented using any of the supported control method of this drive. Control methods such as Basic Volts/Hertz, Fan/Pump Volts/Hertz, Sensorless Vector Control (SVC) and Sensorless Vector Control (SVC) Economizer methods. It is also capable of Position and Velocity loop control, this drive supports Closed Loop Position Vector Control and must be installed with an optional encoder module. Each control has rated performance of ±1% of base speed across a 60:1 speed range for Volts / Hertz; ±0.5% of base speed across a 100:1 speed range for SVC and SVC economizer.

The 25C-D017N114 is provided with Four (4) Programmable discrete inputs; Two (2) Isolated, ±10V and 4-20 mA analog inputs; Two (2) Relay outputs composed of One (1)Programmable Form A and One (1) Programmable Form B contacts; Two (2) Programmable Opto-coupler outputs; One (1) Non-Isolated 0-10V or 4-20 mA output terminals.

This drive is especially designed for integration with ControlLogix, GuardLogix, and CompactLogix Programmable Automation Controllers (PAC) using Studio 5000 Logix Designer.

The 25C-D017N114 has a maximum output frequency of 590 Hz and a 1000-meter maximum operating altitude. Featured on the 25C-D017N114 drive are an integral keypad and a 5-digit, 16 segment LCD human interface module (HIM) with scrolling text capabilities. It also comes with various I/O wirings, specifically 2 analog inputs made up of 1 voltage input and 1 current input, 4 digital inputs, 2 relay outputs, 2 opto outputs, and 1 analog output that is jumper-selectable. A built-in Ethernet/IP dual port is also present on this drive for the Device Level Ring (DLR) functionality and the support for multiple network topologies. The 25C-D017N114 drive also has 1 USB port that supports MainsFree programming so that you can upload, download, or flash the settings of your drive by connecting the control module of the drive with a USB cable to a PC. Available motor controls on this drive are the sensorless vector control, the closed loop velocity vector control, and the volts per Hertz control. Applications suitable for the 25C-D017N114 drive are those that require speed control for induction motors, such as fans, in-feed and outfeed conveyors, and pumps. It has an IP20 NEMA open type enclosure and this C frame drive is mounted via a panel or DIN rail.
