1391-DES22-DI

The Allen-Bradley 1391-DES22-DI is a Pulse Width Modulated Digital Programmable Single-Axis AC Servo Drive from the 1391-DES product series. It allows Allen-Bradley 1326 AC servo motors to operate at 33-50% higher than their rated speed. The 1391-DES22-DI Servo Drive is powered by an 80C196KB microprocessor and it can control the speed and torque of an AC servo motor in a servo system comprised of the following 3 elements: a 1391-DES Servo Drive, a 1326 AC Servomotor, and a 1391 isolation transformer.

The 1391-DES22-DI contains an integrated 300V DC (nominal) power supply comprised of a power transformer, a bridge rectifier, and a power supply filter capacitor. The input from the power transformer is rated at 230V AC (3-phase) at 50-60 Hz. The single-phase 36V AC input from a tertiary winding on the isolation transformer is fed to the power driver board, which in turn generates the control logic voltages of ±12V DC and +5V DC for the 1391-DES22-DI drive. The 1391-DES22-DI’s continuous current is 22.5A RMS with a peak current of up to 45A RMS. The continuous power output is rated at 7.5 kW with a peak power output going up to 15 kW. The nominal bus voltage is 300V DC.

The 1391-DES22-DI is equipped with an integrated 2-line, 16-character LCD and a 5-button keypad for programming. The fault conditions displayed on the front panel include overtemperature fault, power fault, control voltage fault, resolver loss fault, and overvoltage. The keypad allows parameter access and modification. To guarantee performance and prevent damage, the 1391-DES22-DI should be mounted inside a clean and dry enclosure that is ventilated by filtered and cooled air. Enclosures that are vented with ambient air must have the appropriate filtering to protect against contamination from oils, coolants, dust, condensation, etc.

The 1391-DES22-DI is equipped with an integral cooling fan which is rated at 50 CFM (unloaded). The smooth flow of air through the unit must be maintained by following the recommended spacing guidelines. The operating temperature is from 0-60º C (32-140º F) at 5-95% relative humidity (non-condensing). The power dissipated during operation varies with load: at 20% it is 55 W, at 40% it is 110 W, at 60% it is 165 W, at 80% it is 220 W and at 100% it is 275 W. The dimensions of the 1391-DES22-DI drive are 482.6 x 157.5 x 293.6 mm and it weighs 12 kg.
