The 1391B-ESAA22-AQB Allen-Bradley Servo Drive is available in two versions, the A Series drives, and the B Series drives. They have regular features such as an input protected against transient voltage and a standard 300V DC power bus source with an integrated shunt regulator. Some other options or modifications include a contactor auxiliary switch, a current or torque amplifier operation, and an external shunt regulator resistor. The 1391B-ESAA22-AQB has all the features of the 1391B-ES with the addition of 300 % peak current capacity.

It is packaged for minimum panel area requirements, and this standardizes some of the features needed by the machine tool and electronic equipment industry. The 1391B-ESAA22-AQB allows the user to obtain high operating speeds with the purchased motors or with the engines already in use. Depending on the motor, the 1391B-ESAA22-AQB can generate up to 30% more momentum than usual without torque loss. This can help the user achieve higher precision, better products, and more productivity than existing machines. The 1391B-ESAA22-AQB is used with a computer-assisted, closed-loop positioning system to control the position of various machine parts on the automatic machine and to control the linear or rotational movement. All components are mounted in a frame with an open cover. The controller is designed to be placed in a housing and to be ventilated with filtered and cooled air. An internal fan circulates air over the heat sink. The 1391B-ESAA22-AQB converts the 3-phase, 50/60 Hz input into a controllable phase, amplitude, and frequency variable AC voltage. The output, comparable to an analog control supplied by the user, regulates the speed and current (torque) of an AC servo motor with 1326 permanent magnets. The controller is available at 15, 22.5, and 45A RMS ratings with all the package sizes being the same.
