The Allen-Bradley 150-C3NBD is an SMC-3 solid-state smart motor controller. It has a coil voltage of 100 to 240 Volts AC and voltage rating of 200 to 460 Volts AC. It also has an amperage rating of 3 A, a frequency rating of 50/60 Hertz, and an HP rating of 0.5 HP. This is a soft starter controller designed to operate line-connected, 3-phase motors. Operating temperature of this controller is from -5 to 50 degrees Celsius and its storage temperature range is from -25 to 85 degrees Celsius. Its non-condensing relative humidity is 5% to 95% and its maximum operating altitude is 2000 meters. The entire 150-C3NBD controller measures 1.77 x 5.5 x 4.38 inches and has an open-type enclosure. There are 5 modes of operation with this switch, namely coast-to-rest, soft start, soft stop, current limit start, and kick start. This controller also features built-in electronic motor overload protection, over-temperature protection, built-in SCR/Run bypass, and phase reversal protection. It can be used for applications such as pumps, chillers, mixers, conveyors, lifts, and fans. The 150-C3NBD controller will check all SCRs for unit load connections and short before every start. When it detects a shorted SCR and/or open load, it will abort the start, which will be indicated in the controller to prevent phase imbalance. This switch will also trip when the phase imbalance has exceeded the specified limits to avoid motor damage. It will not attempt a start when there is only a single-phase condition to protect it from motor burnout during single-phase starting. This controller has a run/fault LED status indicator, DIP switches that allow easy configuration of various controller settings, a rotary switch to allow quick and easy motor FLA setup, and a reset button that can also be used to do a quick test of the state of the controller.

The Allen-Bradley 150-C3NBD is an SMC-3 Smart Motor Controller that is primarily used to control the Starting and Stopping operation of a 3-Phase motor. This controller is a Solid-State device, that is more commonly known as motor starter. It implements safe starting and stopping methods through the use of built-in functions supported by this device... particularly, Soft Start; Selectable kickstart; Current limit start; Cost-to-rest; and Soft Stop. It can be used with Line and Delta connected motors.

Each of these functions come with configurable parameters including 2, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, or 30 seconds for Start Time; 15%, 25%, 35%, and 65% of locked rotor torque for Initial Torque; 150%, 250%, 350%, and 450% of full load current for Current limit; 0, 0.5, 1.0, or 1.5 seconds for Selectable Kick-Start; Soft Stop settings such as Off, 100%, 200%, or 300% of the start time setting when wired, and Selectable Overload Trip class such as Trip Class 10, 15, or 20.

The 150-C3NBD has a rated operation voltage of 200…480 Volts AC (-15%, +10%) per UL / CSA and NEMA standards and 200…480 Volts AC — 400 Volts AC in compliance to IEC standard. It has a rated insulation voltage of 600 Volts AC for UL / CSA and NEMA and 500 Volts AC for IEC standard while the operating frequency is typical to both standards. This controller has a 3-Ampere output that is applicable to the connected motor. It comes with an open type enclosure and supports mounting directly to the enclosure subpanel. It has a rated impulse voltage of 6 kV and DV/DT Protection of 1000 V/µs while the overvoltage category of this device is III.
