The Allen-Bradley 150-C60NBD is a SMC-3 Smart Motor Controller. This device is a solid-sate controller that is more popularly known as Soft-Starter, primarily used for motor protection and lowering energy consumption. Being part of the SMC-3 product family, this motor controller is capable of implementing Soft Start, Kickstart, Current Limiting, Coast to stop, and Soft-stop. Additionally, the SMC-3 comes with an integrated bypass.

The 150-C60NBD has a compact design and small footprint. It requires a minimum installation space and built-in with internal diagnostics and electronic overload with adjustable trip class to suit the electrical system design, preventing unplanned downtimes.

The 150-C60NBD features selectable start times of 2, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, or 30 s; Selectable Initial Torque of 15%, 25%, 35%, and 65% of locked rotor torque; Selectable Current Limit of 150%, 250%, 350%, and 450% of full load current; Selectable Kick Start — 450% FLA of 0, 0.5, 1.0, or 1.5 s; Selectable Soft Stop of Off, 100%, 200%, or 300% of the start time setting when wired and Selectable Overload Trip Class such as 10, 15, or 20.

The 150-C60NBD is compatible for use with Line-connected and Delta connected motors. For Line-connected motors, this smart controller has an output of 20-60 Amperes and output power range of 7.5 - 40 HP; 15-30 kW. For Delta connected motors, the 150-C60NBD has output specifications of 34.6 - 104 Amperes, 15-55 Kw and 20-75HP. This motor is designed to operate at input line voltage supply of 200-460V AC, 3-Phase along frequencies of 50/60 Hz.

The drive provides control via the 100-240V AC logic control voltage along its control circuit and it provides 1500V AC (dielectric withstand) 250V AC voltage insulation and 2500V AC impulse voltage across its control circuit. It has an auxiliary contact (250V AC) with electromagnetic circuit control (E.M.) and a 240V AC, 1A, Normally-Open (N.O.) relay contact. The 150-C60NBD is fused with a 125A Class CC/J/L fuse that has a 70KA fault limit, a 225A time delay K5 fuse with 10KA fault limit, and a 225A circuit breaker (Thermal-magnetic) with a 10KA fault limit. The controller has 4 operational modes, the Soft start, the Soft Stop, the Current limit, and Selectable Kickstart, and it can provide motor overload protection via the programmable transformers on each phase. Its trimmed down design gives it a smaller footprint than that of similar models. The 150-C60NBD provides protection against excessively high temperatures by monitoring the temperature of the SCR with an internal factory-built thermistor. The controller provides protection against phase reversal via a DIP switch by verifying power before start-up, and it is also capable of providing phase imbalance protection. The 150-C60NBD has a maximum heat dissipation of 50W and can operate optimally at -5-55 0C and 5-95% relative humidity. It can withstand a 1G operational vibration and a 15G shock, and it will still retain its optimal function at 2000m (6560ft) in altitude. The 150-C60NBD has an open enclosure and is rated IP2X for use in a Pollution Degree2 Environment. Its total volume is 72mm x 206mm x 130mm, and it is CCC, CE, CSA, and cUL-us certified.
