The Controller 150-F201FCD is part of the family of Allen Bradley SMC Flex Smart controllers that are designed to control motors using computer microprocessors. This controller can control starting with the 6 lead Wye-Delta motors and also 3-phase squirrel-cage induction. It is a Solid State Controller with a rating of 201 A, 150 Hp at 460 Volts AC. It has NEMA Type 4/12 (IP65) (non-combination only) enclosure type, with an input voltage of 200 to 575 Volts AC, 50 and 60 Hertz 3 phase, and a 100 to 200 Volt AC (5 to 480 units) control voltage.
The SMC Flex Smart Motor Controller 150-F201FCD, being a soft starter with low starting torque requirements for applications, can operate in a variety of modes. These are linear speed acceleration, dump ramp and full voltage start, preset slow speed, current limit start, soft start and stop, and selectable kickstart.
Built into the 150-F201FCD controller is a standard electronic, algorithm-based motor overload protection designed to protect against overheating caused by overcurrent. The overload protection feature is programmable with selectable trip classes. The trip current also has programmable parameters (such as the trip class, motor full-load current rating and service factor. Another feature that protects motor operations is the voltage unbalance protection, which is affected when the derived voltage unbalance reaches the set trip level. When the load is below a set level, motor operations are stalled. The underload level and the trip delay time can be programmed and adjusted by the user. The controller has a built-in undervoltage protection feature that suspends motor operations when the input voltage falls below a programmed level. To avoid repeated stops, the delay time can also be programmed. Stalling or jamming can damage the load connected mechanically or cause the breakdown of the winding insulation. The jamming and stalling protection feature ensures that this is prevented. To avoid repeated suspension, a delay time can also be programmed.
As with the family of Allen Bradley SMC Flex Smart Controllers, the 150-F201FCD has an LCD display, metering, integrated electronic motor that prevents overload, programmable keypad, integral SCR Bypass/Run contactor, CT on each phase and four programmable auxiliary contacts.
