The 150-F317NBDB controller is a smart motor controller in the SMC-Flex series that is manufactured by Allen-Bradley. This SMC-Flex controller controls motors in factories and other industrial settings by starting, stopping, accelerating, or decelerating them. The 150-F317NBDB controller starts, stops, accelerates, and decelerates the motor it is attached to as smoothly as possible to avoid power surges, power losses, damage to the motor, or erratic or unintended motor operation. One of the most common control modes used by the 150-F317NBDB controller is the soft start mode that is based on the motor’s torque rating. The users give the motor an initial torque rating that can be anywhere from 0 to 90% of the locked rotor torque. The controller uses the initial torque level as its baseline when it steplessly increases the output voltage to the motor as the motor starts up.
