The 150-F480NCD is part of the Bulletin 150 — SMC Flex Smart Motor Controllers by Allen-Bradley. It provides starts for Wye-Delta, 6-lead motors or standard three-phase squirrel-cage induction motors, controlled by microprocessors. Its enclosure type is open and is rated as a non-combination, Type 4/12 IP65. With a voltage rating of 500 to 575 Volts AC, it is equipped with control power of 100 to 240 Volts AC at 50 to 60 Hertz. It has a maximum power of 560 kW at 50 Hertz, and 900 HP at 60 Hertz. Its controller rating is 480 A, 400 HP at 460 Volts AC. For the unit to operate properly, the motor FLA rating should fall within 277 and 831 A of motor current.

The 150-F480NCD Three-Phase Input Motor Controller provides seven modes to operate the module in, which are standard for this type of module: Soft Start,  Linear Speed Acceleration, Current Limit Start, Soft Stop, Dual Ramp, Full Voltage, and Preset Slow Speed. It is functionally designed for two- or three-wire controls, making it the ideal module to apply to a large range of operations. It has a three-line, 16-character backlit LCD display with a front keypad for easy setup. It uses the DriveTools programming software for downloading parameter values. It also supports DPI communication (although the module is not included) to connect optional human interface and communication devices.

The 150-F480NCD Solid-State Controller offers diagnostics and protection from controller temp, communication fault, excessive starts in an hour, line fault, open gate, stall, jam, power loss, voltage unbalance, phase reversal, undervoltage, overvoltage, overload, and underload. It has four auxiliary contacts that are fully programmable as normal/up-to-speed/fault/alarm/network (N.O./N.C.), or external bypass (N.O. only). These are also used as output contacts. The 150-F480NCD can control up to two inputs and four outputs over a communication network.
