The 150-F5NCD controller is an SMC Flex smart motor controller manufactured and designed by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation. This 3-phase solid-state motor controller can work with 200 to 575 Volts AC line voltages at a frequency of 50 and 60 Hertz. Its power ratings are 3 Horsepower at 60 Hertz and 2.2 kilowatts at 60 Hertz. The 150-F5NCD controller supports an open-style design which means that this device should be installed in an enclosure that is properly cooled. The permissible temperature inside of this enclosure is 50 degrees Celsius. Like all industrial automation products from Allen-Bradley, the 150-F5NCD smart motor controller sets new standards for motor soft starting and soft stopping. This unit provides multiple modes of operation, including the full voltage start, current limit start, soft start, soft stop, preset slow speed, dual ramp, and the linear speed acceleration.

The Allen-Bradley 150-F5NCD controller provides 1 to 5 Amps of current to 3-phase motors, and it is packed with premium protection and control features. For control purposes, this smart motor controller requires a 100 to 240 Volts AC power supply that is also used for internal fan powering. The 150-F5NCD controller is engineered to diagnose various faults and show them to the users on an LCD screen. Besides this screen, status LEDs, a keypad, and programmable auxiliary contacts complete the user interface of the device.  All of the SMC-Flex controllers are equipped with 24 control terminals in the front. Inputs labeled as inputs 23 and 24 are reserved for a PTC that can be installed in motor windings to detect overheating. The SMC-Flex 150-F5NCD controller shows any faults that occur and stops the motor’s rotation to avoid damage.
