The Allen-Bradley 150-F85NBDD Smart Motor Controller is a type of soft motor starter from the Allen-Bradley SMC Flex smart motor controller family that is designed to give microprocessor-controlled starting for standard 3-phase industrial induction motors. Standard features for this controller include a built-in SCR bypass that allows for smooth operation after activating the starting algorithm, built-in protective features like underload protection, jam detection, stall protection, under load protection, over-voltage protection, under-voltage protection, voltage unbalance protection, and electronic motor overload protection, and flexible communication via an integral DPI communication interface. The 150-F85NBDD Controller has 8 standard operation modes and optional smart motor braking control which provides enhanced braking for applications requiring faster stopping than the normal “coast to rest” stopping mode.

The 150-F85NBDD Controller has a 3-phase operating voltage range of 200 to 460 Volts AC (at 50 to 60 Hertz) and output power rating of 60 Horsepower. It has a total current rating of 85 Amps and a maximum short-circuit rating of 10.0 Kilo-Amps. The 150-F85NBDD Controller has a control circuit with an operating voltage rating of 200 to 240 Volts AC and a dielectric withstand rating of 1600 Volts. It comes with 4 fully programmable auxiliary contacts (N.C. and N.O.) that can be programmed for network, alarm, up to speed, normal, or fault control. The 150-F85NBDD Controller offers simplified parameter programming, control, diagnostics, and troubleshooting via an LCD and a 5-button programming keypad. It has built-in DPI communication capability via a serial interface, which allows for the connection of a human-machine interface module and a wide range of communication modules.
