About 150-F85NCD

The SMC-Flex Controller 150-F85NCD is a modular Solid-State Controller from Allen Bradley that was designed to start or stop line connected motors (for example, Wye-Delta connected 6 lead motors or standard 3-phase squirrel cage induction) using a computer microprocessor. Because the features, configuration, and other options of this controller can be freely selected by end-users, this controller is very easy to install and commission. It can operate in a variety of modes, such as soft start, soft stop, full voltage, dual ramp start, current limit start, selectable kickstart, preset slow speed, and linear speed acceleration. Additional modes of operation are smart motor braking, slow speed with braking, accu stop, pump start, and pump stop. Rated at 85 A for 60 Hp at 460 Volts AC, this unit has an open enclosure, an input line voltage of 200 to 575 Volts AC 3 phase at 50 or 60 Hertz, and a 100 to 200 Volt AC (5 to 480 A unit) control voltage.



The 150-F85NCD has a three-line 16-character built-in backlit LCD display and a five-button keypad, which is situated at the front of the controller; this keypad allows the controller to be programmed. These five buttons (Enter and Escape buttons, select button, up and down arrows) are used when programming the controller’s parameters, which are arranged in a four-level menu, by entering keystrokes. It comes standard with a serial interface port which enables connection to other interface and communication modules such as Bulletin 20 HMI. This terminal can also connect with Bulletin 20-COMM communication modules, such as Allen Bradley Remote I/O, ProfiBUS, Interbus, EtherNet, ControlNet, RS485-DF1 and DeviceNet. Network I/O is provided via two inputs and four outputs that use auxiliary contacts and are controlled through a communication network. The auxiliary contacts are fully programmable hard contacts and labeled Aux #1 through to Aux #4. The 150-F85NCD has some impressive protective features to offer. All of its protective features operate by having a trip level and trip delay time set. When the trip level is reached and the trip level delay time is exceeded, motor operation is halted. The protective features are overvoltage protection, voltage unbalance protection, electronic motor overload protection, excessive starts per hour, stall protection and jam protection, under voltage protection and underload protection. With Metering, the following parameters can be monitored: elapsed time, power in kW or mW, power factor, 3-phase current, motor thermal capacity usage, 3-phase voltage and power usage in kWh or MWh.
