About 150-N4D

The Allen-Bradley 150-N4D Smart Motor Controller is a soft starter designed to improve the efficiency of motor starting and stopping modes. The design of this SMC allows it to operate in three-phase motors. This controller comes equipped with built-in overload protection. In addition to this, the controller also uses 6 SCRs (silicone controlled rectifiers), with 2 in each phase. These SCRs control the voltage and vary the conduction, thus controlling the torque of the motor when it is starting, running, and stopping. When the motor starts and is fully running, a complete input voltage is normally applied to that motor. Once that has been achieved, a unit with an internal bypass power structure normally connects the SCRs with central bypass contacts with AC1 current levels ratings. Connecting the SCRs reduces heat and supports smaller products for applications that require minimum space. For a solid-state power structure, the silicone controlled rectifiers are usually in a circuit switching current. This makes the 150-N4D Controller robust and suitable for harsher environments, like shock-type loads and more violent duty cycles.



 



The users will need an SMC Dialog Plus controller like the Allen-Bradley 150-N4D Smart Motor Controller to enhance the integration of intelligent motor management systems into their pre-existing automation architecture. The reliability of the users' automation architecture can be increased by communication capabilities and by reducing the total number of terminations and components that are used in every system. The 150-N4D SMC Dialog Plus controller provides improved controls via its ability to access the parameter settings.
