The Allen-Bradley 153H-F108FCD-50 drive is a type of solid-state controller that contains a circuit breaker and that belongs to the SMC-Flex product line. It has an enclosure type that is rated as an IP65 (Type 4/12) enclosure with a controller rating of 108A, 75 HP at 460V AC. The input line voltage is 500-575V AC 3-phase input voltage at 50 & 60 Hz. Moreover, for control, the voltage rating is 120V AC and its HP output rating is 100. The 153H-F108FCD-50 device is wired to operate 3-phase squirrel cage induction motors and wye-delta motors. The line involves soft-starters that belong to grouping and non-combination models. The 153H-F108FCD-50 has different modes of operation, an SMC flex controller, and standard and surplus motor protection. When matched with the appropriate short circuit protection, excess protection is provided to safeguard the motor, the motor controller, and the power cabling against overheating that is triggered by an extreme overcurrent.

The motor may experience locked-rotor flows and develop high-force intensities if it jams. Such a condition can result in winding separation failure. The 153H-F108FCD-50 SMC flex controller provides the users with both jam and system protection. For the stall protection, it permits the users to program a concentrated stall protection delay of between 0 and 10 seconds. That delay is made in the totaling of the preset start and it begins when the start time has programmed out. If the 153H-F108FCD-50 controller detects that the motor is jammed, it immediately shuts down after the interruption period has expired. The users are alerted by the jam detection before the motor reaches full speed.
