The 1560-PDP2 adapter is a PROFIBUS to SCANport communication adapter manufactured by Allen-Bradley. It has been manufactured to let SCANport devices communicate with the PLC or another DP protocol. It is fully compatible with the 1336 Plus, 1397, 1305, SMP3, and other Allen-Bradley products. It is a high-speed adapter and it comes with several DIP switch options. It uses the PROFIBUS DP slave mode with the SPC3 chipset. It comes with a maximum baud rate of 12 M. It supports up to 126 nodes with 3 repeaters. The communication adapter supports up to 32 parameter values. Red and green status LED indicators are present on the adapter and these indicators show the Profibus and SCANport status of the adapter. The 1560-PDP2 adapter consumes 65 milliamps of current at 24 Volts DC. The input voltage rating of the adapter ranges between 85 and 264 Volts AC. It is a single-phase device with a frequency range between 45 and 63 Hertz.
Three parity setups are supported by the adapter and they are the "none," "odd," and "even" setups. The Allen-Bradley 1560-PDP2 adapter can be configured by using DIP switches with slave addresses anywhere from 1 to 63. The adapter is equipped with the RS-232, RS-422, or RS-485 female 9-pin D-shell connectors. The communication adapter can only be operated in a temperature range between 0 and 50 degrees Celsius. The adapter has an open enclosure and it should be protected from water sprays. The 1560-PDP2 adapter can be mounted by using a DIN Rail mounting clip. A pre-assigned map is available in the adapter for command, control, and reference information. It supports up to 32 different parameter values.
