The 1409-COAD module is an Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation ground fault relay module is an arcing type of module with a Class II designation. The module is part of the 1409 product series and it comes with a high current-limiting feature. The Bulletin 1409 product line offers several different modules that are available with NEMA starter sizes from 1 to 6. It also offers a variety of modules with different power ratings and different voltage ranges that will contribute to a wider scope of applications than other modules. The main purpose of the 1409-COAD ground fault relay module is to protect the equipment from damages if unexpected events occur.

The 1409-COAD arcing ground fault relay module only measures 89 millimeters (3.5 inches) in width, 154 millimeters (6 inches) in height, and 111 millimeters (4.3 inches) in depth. The module uses 8 to 32 screws for mounting and it has a specified ambient operating temperature range of 0 to 65 degrees Celsius (32 to 149 degrees Fahrenheit). The 1409-COAD arcing ground fault relay module has a NEMA size 2 starter and a power rating of 15 Horsepower maximum. In addition to that, the unit has an input voltage range of 200 to 230 Volts AC and supply voltage rating of 120 Volts AC with an input frequency of 60 Hertz. The 1409-COAD arcing ground fault module has a full load current of 45 Amps and minimum and maximum high current limits of 189 and 239 Amps, respectively. The response time of the 1409-COAD relay module is 50 milliseconds (nominal) without controller drop-out time. Also, all relays of this type available through this series have an output contact current rating of 30 Amps of make current and 3 Amps of break current. The continuous carrying current is 5 Amps at 120 Volts AC.
