The 140M-F8E-C45 Motor Protection Circuit Breaker belongs to the Allen-Bradley Bulletin 140M High Break Motor Protection Circuit breaker series that is designed to provide short-circuit and overload protection for single and combined motor load applications. Circuit breakers in this series come with factory-installed internal accessories that make field-installation and wiring simple and easy. Similar to every other 140M series Frame F motor protection circuit breaker, the 140M-F8E-C45 Circuit Breaker can be used as a disconnect device for a motor branch circuit, a branch-circuit, or switching devices in a wide range of control panels. The 140M-F8E-C45 Circuit Breaker is designed for a circuit with 460 Volts AC to 600 Volts AC operating voltage range, and it has a breaker current rating of 45 Amps.

The 140M-F8E-C45 Circuit Breaker comes with fixed magnetic and adjustable thermal trip protection units made of a bimetal thermal strip and an electromagnet in series with the line load, respectively. These units offer instantaneous magnetic trip action when the incoming line load rises above the factory set value, and the fixed magnetic trip element offers a magnetic trip rating of 585 Amps. The circuit breaker's thermal trip unit has an adjustable trip element that offers an adjustable trip rating from 32 to 45 Amps, and it offers an overall short-circuit rating of 65 Kilo-Amps (KA). The 140M-F8E-C45 Circuit Breaker has a Horsepower output power rating of 15 Horsepower at 230 Volts AC input voltage and 30 Horsepower at 460 Volts AC. The 140M-F8E-C45 Circuit Breaker supports group installation where it acts as a branch circuit protection device that is connected to two or more motors, or to one or more motors and other loads. It also supports multiple load installations.
