The 140M-I8E-D16EĀ circuit breaker is a molded-case circuit breaker that has been designed and manufactured by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation. This circuit breaker operates with a rated current of 205 Amps andĀ a current rating of 40 to 205 Amps and it has a trip class of 5 to 20 Amps. The Allen-Bradley 140M-I8E-D16E molded-case circuit breaker is an adjustable thermal and fixed magnetic circuit breaker. These mechanisms consist of 2Ā bimetal bars that receive heat from the current and a magnet in charge of detecting short-circuit currents. This circuit breaker can be installed in a cabinet to protect it fromĀ excessiveĀ surrounding temperatures since the circuit breaker works with heat to detect excessive and abnormal currents.

The Allen-Bradley 140M-I8E-D16E molded-case circuit breaker preventsĀ abnormal levels of current from flowing through the conduits of different equipment. This equipment can be groups of equipment or individualĀ motors. This protection mechanism consists of branch-circuit protection and short-circuit protection. Breakers ensure that equipment receives a healthy current that will not cause any damageĀ to them. The Allen-Bradley 140M-I8E-D16E molded-case circuit breaker can be installed with different accessories that enhance its functioning. These accessories includeĀ enclosures, wirings, caps, Undervoltage trip release, shunt trip releases, and compact bus bars. The Allen-Bradley 140M-I8E-D16E molded-case circuit breaker needs to be installed with proper wirings according to its application specifications. Aluminum and copper wiring that isĀ resistant to temperatures higher than 75 degrees Celsius is recommended because it can resist the heat produced by the current during operations. Before the installation of the breaker, electrical operational tests need to be performed onĀ both pieces of equipment.
