The 140M-I8P-C50S-M Motor Protection Circuit Breaker (MPCB) is a high performance, high breaking, and compact breaker from Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation. It has a Size I frame, 3 poles, and a 205 Amps frame current rating. The rated operational voltage of the circuit breaker is 600 Volts AC and the current rating is 50 Amps. This MPCB provides protection with an adjustable magnetic trip. It has a net weight of 4.5 pounds. Some of the features of this motor protection circuit breaker include visible trip indication, a high switching capacity, and high current limiting levels. The 140M-I8P-C50S-M Motor Protection Circuit Breaker comes with factory-installed internal accessories to make the installation and wiring process easy.

The 140M-I8P-C50S-M Motor Protection Circuit Breaker can be used with Allen-Bradley overload relays, contactors, and NEMA and IEC motor starters. It ensures protection against electrical faults and short circuits by instantaneously disconnecting the current when a fault is detected. This motor protection circuit breaker can withstand starting currents without interrupting the circuit. When selecting the right MPCB for an application, make sure that its current setting is close to the lower end of the setting range to reduce the basic temperature level at the trip coil. If the motor operates at low speed, the line side breaker can be tripped due to the rise of the peak input current. The 140M-I8P-C50S-M Motor Protection Circuit Breaker can be used in multi-motor installations where the drive cannot provide protection for individual branches. The use of the motor protection circuit breaker eliminates the traditional three-component starter assembly. This MPCB provides overload protection to individual motors and short-circuit protection for individual motor circuit tap conductors where required.
