The Allen-Bradley 140MG-J8P-D15 Motor Protector Circuit Breaker is a high-performance motor protector circuit breaker belonging to the Bulletin 140MG motor protector circuit breaker series. These motor circuit protectors are designed to provide short-circuit protection, and they offer high switching and breaking capacities. As a short-circuit only protection device, the 140MG-J8P-D15 Circuit Breaker is UL/CSA recognized and it is not listed for motor loads, but it is CSA, CE, and CCC certified. In applications that require thermal motor overload protection, an overload protection device must be provided separately to meet this need. The 140MG-J8P-D15 Circuit Breaker has a visible front-panel trip indicator that provides the operators with the breaker’s status information, a make or break contact-type and a lever-type of switch handle for control.

The 140MG-J8P-D15 Circuit Breaker has a J-Frame size with a nominal current rating of 150 Amps, and a maximum interrupting rating of 100 Kilo-Amps. It is used in applications with a voltage rating of 230 to 690 VoltS AC, and it has an output power rating of 132 kilowatts at 230 Volts AC and of 250 kilowatts at 690 Volts AC. The 140MG-J8P-D15 Circuit Breaker has an adjustable magnetic trip unit with CAM controlled settings, and its trip settings can be adjusted to up to 10 times the full load amps (FLA) rating. The magnetic trip unit has 9 CAM settings (A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, and I), which correspond to the magnetic trip currents that are adjustable from 750 Amps to 1500 Amps, and it also has a lever that can be used to reset the breaker contact. The 140MG-J8P-D15 Circuit Breaker comes with 3-pole wiring design with standard end cap bolt-on terminals, and it is enclosed in an IP 20 rated enclosure.
