The 140MG-K8P-D30 circuit breaker is a molded-case circuit breaker from the 140MG series of global motor circuit protection devices by Allen-Bradley. This circuit breaker has been designed to provide overload and short-circuit current protection to a group of devices or to a motor, it also comes with an isolation functionality that protects a traditional overload relay. This function applies to motor isolation. Unlike the majority of the breakers used in North America that can only operate with 80% efficiency, the Allen-Bradley 140MG-K8P-D30 molded-case circuit breaker operates with a 100% efficiency rating, meaning that it can use its full capacity as a breaker in motor protection applications.

The Allen-Bradley 140MG-K8P-D30 molded-case circuit breaker comes with a K frame that includes a current rating of 400 Amps, a high break capacity, and a current range of 300 Amps. The kind of protection that this device provides consists of adjustable magnets that work with an adjustable current range of 300 to 3000 Amps. This circuit breaker comes with 3-phase Horsepower ratings of 75 to 200 Horsepower at voltages of 200 to 575 Volts. The control functions provided by the Allen-Bradley 140MG-K8P-D30 molded-case circuit breaker include the functions to disconnect the motor branch circuit, and short-circuit protection through the use of magnets and switching. It comes with end cap and bolt-on standard terminals, visible trip indication, high current limiting, and a high switching capacity as mentioned before. Overload protection must be provided separately and wirings made of aluminum and copper rated at up to 75 degrees Celsius need to be used to avoid overheating during operations.
